Injured hen! Puncture wound and scrapes

Ouch one of our Cochin's has an open wound on her back and we have set up an isolation coop for her. Yours looks like predators got to her some how. Insodently I also live in "The middle of NOWHERE Georgia" LOL

We've been hearing about alot of predators lately. Just a few weeks ago a guy down the road from us had all of his goats kill by "some kind of animal"

It may have been from a hawk or owl that reached in the chicken wire and grabbed it. Just put neosporin on the wounds. I Hope she gets better!

We do have hawks that fly over frequently but we have netting over the top of our pens and have never had a problem with them. Thank you! She seems to be doing well. Even laid an egg today which was a shock!
