Today I found a pile of blood in my coop. Turns out it was from a hen. She wasn’t weird until today and now I feel guilty that I missed this and could have done something sooner! I have had chickens for a long time and never an issue like this.

Any ways its on her behind. Vent injury? Prolapse? Any ideas?

It’s pretty bad so Im not sure if I should treat or humanely put her down.

Looks like a prolapse.

Gather her up and give her a good soaking and clean up. Take more photos so we can see the extent of the prolapse and damage.

Keep any exposed tissue moist with ointment, oil, raw honey, etc.

I'd also get extra Calcium into her asap since this will be essential for retention and healing.
Calcium Citrate with D3, 1 tablet daily or if you don't have that, then you can give her 1 TUMS (daily).

Good advice from Wyorp Rock. If other chickens see the red prolapse, they will attack it and cause damage. Hopefully, she can heal up and get better.
I have her seperated. I feel so bad over it! This is the first prolapse I have had.
