I have two sections to my chicken yard. One is about 30 hens and one rooster which I know is lopsided but I'm going to fix that. The other is about 30 roosters that are about to be put in the freezer. I've had three of my hands dig under the fence in the last 2 weeks and get in with the roosters and they are damaged. The one today has the skin pulled off her in two or three places very large spots. the other two have healed but I quite frankly don't know what to do with this one. Is there any way to salvage her? She is alert and will eat and will stand up and wants to get out of her hospital box so I I'm not sure what to do. I usually spray their damaged areas with the metro scene but I don't know if I should spray this on her because it would be spraying it right on her meat not on skin.

I'd use betadine to keep it clean, but I know there are other options as well. I'm not familiar with the one you mentioned. I'd suggest moving her into a dog crate so she cant get out. If shes alert and interested in food/water and not lethargic, I'd say she can heal that as long as it stays clean.

For starters put a wire apron between the pens so that hens can not get into the rooster pen. Apply antibiotic ointment to the wound. Such wounds generally heal well in birds, but it will take time as they heal from the outside inwards.

As usual, I should have checked my phone before I posted. It does me in on voice everytime. The name of the spray is vetricyn.
