injured mallard duck

Hi my female mallard duck was attacked by a hawk, and will not stop touching the wound. she is missing her chest feathers, and has a decent size cut on her chest as well. any ideas of what i should do to ease the pain or help encourage healing?

Have you washed her wounds with watered down betadine or warm water and soap? Then you need to clip her feathers back from around the wounds so you can put some antibiotic ointment on it can you post pics of her wounds? Keep her away from flies so they don’t lay eggs and hence maggots.

I would spray it with some kind of poultry wound spray and wrap with vet wrap...pics...please.....

You are her caretaker you need to go ahead and do what you have to do she may object but she’ll get over it.
