Hi everyone, a few days ago we brought one of our quails inside for care as she was missing a toenail, and is limping, lethargic and tired.

we then found out something in our aviary broke and there was a mouse getting in.

She’s been inside for 2 days now, and is eating and drinking, just very lethargic and limping due to the foot.

Where we live the closest aviarian vet is a few hours away so we’re trying to maintain this at home.

Our other quails are doing fine and no issues.

Any advice or similar situations?

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry about your Quail. I don't know much about them, but will tag in a few folks that may be able to offer some suggestions.

In the mean time, is it possible to get some photos of her injured foot and poop?
Could she have flushed and boinked her head?

If there was a predator in the aviary, it could have flushed and gotten head trauma or it could just be stress from the attack/injury. Recommend keeping it warm and dry with wound on foot clean. Offering electrolytes or nutridrench can be helpful. If it’s just a small area on the foot, your quail should recover relatively quickly.
Additional pictures may be helpful.
