I know it been a while but did your Silkies toenail heal? Did you have to wrap it? you said it just feel off on its own, has it grown back? how long was he in pain?@oldhenlikesdogs so I should wrap it??
This bird died last spring (may or June maybe?) so I’m having a hard time remembering if it grew back, sorry. As for the rest he didn’t seem to be in any pain after the toenail fell off, just before, so if it didn’t fall off yet I would cut it because it dragging causes pain. I never wrapped it, just used blue cote on it, and isopropyl alcohol. It seemed to heal pretty well, but he was not super tame so I never really picked him up. I’ll look back on pictures and see if I can tell if it grew back, and respond here again. Good luck!I know it been a while but did your Silkies toenail heal? Sorry for all the questions, I just noticed the same thing on my Bantam Frizzle and am not sure what to do.
Just looked back and found a picture of him in June, still no nail, so I guess it never did grow back, but was healed and not in pain. This bird died last spring (may or June maybe?) so I’m having a hard time remembering if it grew back, sorry.
