Injured turkeys and carcass quality

Like many of you have probably had happen, dogs got in with my broad breasted bronzes this morning. Mostly minor injuries....big bare spots from pulled feathers, some torn skin, an occasional injury that bled slightly. I have all these birds sold for Thanksgiving dinner and was wondering what effect these injuries will have on the carcass quality. Thanks for your help

It really depends, some you may not notice anything others may not be as big due to healing and some may be bruised.

I would think that between now and Thanksgiving any injuries should be well-healed, although it may possibly affect thier growth some.

They will be well healed by Thanksgiving, but some of the worst injuries might leave scars. I'm going to assume that you are treating the injuries correctly and not just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best. (usually by the time people get to raising turkeys in bulk, they have been involved with poultry long enough to have learned about proper care)
