Hi,

One of our hens has pulled out a claw,can someone tell me how to treat it please.

Bob if you dont find anyone to answer your question here- Try posting it in the Emergencies / diseases / cures and injuries area..people might take more notice of your question - than just popping in to say hi and welcome you..

I have never had a duck loose a claw- so dont know what to suggest apart from applying pressure til the bleeding stops and keeping the area clean so it doesnt get infected... Someone else may have some bette advise...there are plenty of helpful people on here.

I'd like to welcome you to BYC. Just to give you a little help with the hen, I'd advise you to clean her toe the best you can. Apply Neosporin to prevent infection. For more help, post this on "Emergencies", you'll get lots of help there! Good luck!

Thanks for the responses to my call for help.I cleaned the hens claw ,got pecked ,but bleeding stopped and all is now well.
