injury on bill

how hardy are ducks when it comes to healing? I finally completely split my drake and rooster and the poor duck has a pretty banged up bill with dry and fresh blood on it. He's acting fine...a little more resting than is usual for him but he perks up when I approach. Just want to make sure he'll be ok with given a little time to heal up.
