So I have 6 baby chicks, I picked them up from the feed store the other day, they were all in a big bin with alot of others, i got them home and noticed something off with ones eye. I dont know if it is a injury like a peck or something worse like mycroplasma or eye worm or whatever. Im hoping someones seen this before, the other chicks are fine, and this one acts fine other than the eye, eats drinks plays ect.

I think I would try some warm wet compresses on her eye while holding her to try and soften the crust around her eye. You can find Vetericyn eye wash or eye gel , or Terramycin eye ointment in many feed stores, and use it twice a day. Pecking is very common in chicks, so hopefully it will heal. Eyeworm is most likely not the problem. That is uncommon and usually found in tropical locations where chickens have been on soil where the Surinam cockroach lives.

I have a chick with a big knot below it's eye and the eye itself looks unrecognizable. I am going to treat her using the information you provided. Thank you so much!

I put a warm compress, cleaned it up and put neosporin on it this morning. The knot has surrounded the eye this morning. It gets packed with food when it eats. The bottom picture is when it was full of food before it was cleaned.

I forgot to let you know it's a turkey about 4 weeks old. There are 8 in a pen together. We did try a day with baby chicks a couple weeks older but they wouldn't let the turkeys eat.

It's really hard to see her eye, any way you can get some clearer photos?

I don't know much of anything about Turkeys or what diseases affect them. I'll tag in a few folks that may have a better idea. @R2elk @casportpony

Does she have any pus in the eye or is there an odor?
How about any more bumps, lesions on the beak or inside of the beak?

No puss , but trying to make a hood to keep food from getting in the eye. I almost wonder if the bug knot is the eye. Applying antibiotics, cleaning frequently. It's eating and everything as normal. It doesn't even act like it's sensitive when I am cleaning it.

She's getting food in her eye? That photo is a little better - if food/debris is getting into the eye, this could cause irritation and infection.

I would flush with saline, press out all the debris you can, flush some more, then apply an eye ointment. Do this 2-3 times a day.

I'm trying to figure out how she's getting food in her eye - do you have photos of your feeder?
I still don't know anything about Turkeys, but am going to assume that you use a feeder like you would for chicken chicks. As my chicks grow, I start raising the feeder by placing blocks under it so they don't make such a mess.
