Hi, I found one of my 12 week old birds extremely lethargic yesterday. Couldn't stand up, much less walk, was just laying on his side with head at a weird angle. Eyes were closed, a bit of blood on one of his ear(although may be from a broody hen attacking him) I thought he had passed. I put him into a small crate and brought him into the garage to get a rest from all the others pecking him. He perked up after a few hours and ate a bit. Poop is normal. Today he seems better although still cannot walk very well. He isn't distress chirping, just faint chirps and almost a purring sound sometimes. He seems to be able to get his legs under him but walks very wobbly today. He had gotten himself into the pig pen, wondering if maybe got squashed by a pig. Symptoms with walking seem like Mareks but no other symptoms and the 80+ other chickens I have seem fine. His eyes are clear. Any ideas? Is it possible he got squished but is recovering slowly? I have him quarantined still just in case.
