Injury or viral infection?

We just discovered this spot on our beloved chicken (her name is Falcon). I am not sure if this is an infected injury from pecking or a pox from a virus. Would be very interested in thoughts. We have isolated her and are giving her lots of food and water, but not sure what else to do.

It looks like a tumor, such as a squamous cell cancer or a cyst. A vet might be of help. I would let her be with her flock and not isolate her. If it continues to grow and you should lose her, it would be helpful to have your state vet pathologist perform a necropsy. Here is a list of state vets to contact for info:
