Just got my pullets home friday. Every evening I sit in front of the screened coop door and view them in great detail as they come up to chat with me.Only issue noticed is my 17 week old Barred Rock pullet's upper beak is split right down the middle. From the tip the split goes up a tad less than 1/4 of an inch. She acts fine, eats, waters, scratches, bathes, and whines just fine. None of these birds have been outside yet. Sadly due to $$ flow I won't have their run "safely" completed for another 10 days at which time she will have the opportunity to use her beak more (will that help?)

with care have some one to hold bird
now with quick cement glue glue just the crack on top of the beak
check twice a day to see crack is still glued
the beak will repair and the bird will be okay

You mean superglue?
mmmI don't know, the bird jerks and it may get in an eye, or in mouth.
Don't get me wrong I'm not wavering on your reccomendation.....it's my confidence that is iffy

that is why you need some one to hold the bird and hold the head still
then with care you cN GUIDE THE TUBE TO THE CRACK
ANY WAY THAT IS WHAT i HAVE DONE

Did a search and came up with about 6 hits. Most say to trim, some not. Some say superglue will not work, some say it does. Some say it grows out fine after being trimmed.

Thinking on doing a small amount of trimming/filing at a time, maybe 2 or 3 sessions; with a few days inbetween. From reading the posts from the search there is mention that the beak injury can be very painful and nerves/blood (quick) can be exposed.

USSChicago...I'll try to get a pic tomorrow and get it to you
