S/he LOVED it!! Had her first bath, too! (dirt bath, that is) It was adorable! S/he stuck close by Mom and Mom was extra careful keeping everyone at bay. No one was allowed even near the baby!
And not to worry is right! Maxine is an EXCELLENT Mother Hen!
Baby: "Oooh but Mommy, it's so big out there! What if there's sceery (scary) stuff out there?"
Mommy: "You're not to worry, little one. Not to worry."
So sweet!! I love watching chicks on their first outing. The looks on their faces of curiosity and awe are priceless. Of course, the knowledge that this is their first step into adulthood is kind of bittersweet. I think my broody momma handled the transition better than I did. I was almost sad that my fluffy, peeping babies were growing up.
