Sounds very normal. They're tussling over who gets to sit where, even with just the 2 of them. Every bird wants to sit where every other bird is.Thank you! Peeking out the window make sense.
They are going in on their own and up onto the roost after a few nights airlifting them.
The EE jumps on and off it a bunch of times and they battle trying to get under one another with an occasional fall of the roost as a result.
But this all sounds/looks ok?

that’s hysterical. Good to know.

The raised coop is easier to access/clean (unintended bonus of the apparently unnecessary manual laborThey might be stretching up to peek out the window/vent there, a lot of birds like a view from their roost.
Are they getting on the roost themselves at night? Or do you need to place them there (and if so, do they stay put?)
While birds do like to perch "up high" roosts don't need to be that high, nor would I bother elevating the entire coop just to put them up higher. I don't have anything as high as 4' and mine are fine with it.
They just want the best spot/view and will argue about it, like 7 yr olds in the backseat of a car. They will eventually work it out.Thank you! Peeking out the window make sense.

(I admittedly have no idea what I’m doing if it’s not overly apparent)
