Insects Question?

you can buy mealworms by the 1000 online and much cheaper that way.
 
Cicadas come out during the summer. They're the bugs that leave the brown, crusty shells on the tree bark once they shed their skin (or die... one or the other

I hear them every summer since we live in rural NC, our whole back woods is 'a buzz' with them.

This year there is a breed that comes out once every 13 years! They make the crazy buzzing noises (which can sound like a whirling noise in the distance). They dig out of the ground, and crawl up the trees to breed. Then lay eggs and die. Then their offspring "incubate" underground for 13 year, crawl out and repeat the cycle. At least that's what my local news anchor told me :)
