My dad told me no chickens. I had some when I was younger for 4H and loved them. My mom was my +1 for a wedding in the summer months. And on the way back we stopped at a Rural King "to look"

We walked out with 10 chicks, a 50lb bag of feed and a cute waterer and feeder. Dad wasn't happy but he really likes them now. They grew on him enough that he helped me build a coop and run. Then I had to get rid of 4 because of space. Because they all lived! And that was the end...until last month when I bought a rooster

But I'm done getting anymore chickens... until spring when I can build another coop

Update,.... Breaking news. I just ordered an assortment of layers and broilers to be delivered in february.... 25 of them

As an aside consider a secondary tie on the heat lamp. Just in case for some reason the cable cord fails the secondary tie will hold the lamp (I am scared of fire so was always anxious about my heat lamp).
