I have also had three children and would prefer to give birth over another kidney stone. I had a 12 by 3 stone removed 2 inches from my bladder and the pain compares to nothing I've ever experienced.

I absolutely understand. I've had many kidney stones. The pain with some was merely severe while with others it was unbelievable. On 2 occasions I was hospitalized. 2 different nurses struck up conversations and both said that they had experienced stones and also had babies. Each said the pain of child birth paled in comparison to the pain of a stone!

Oh Man, I'm sorry. Those are the worst. I'm an acupuncturist and had a patient with severe stones a few months back. Various problems but they couldn't do surgery. I did acupuncture and gave her an Oriental Medicine Herbal formula and was pain free. She was going back for another ultrasound soon. I expect the stones passed. It is kind of awhile until Feb 24. If you have an herbalist nearby I would try to do something else to help with the pain etc. Sorry you are going through this. The formula was called Stone Formula. You would have to have an OMD dr. prescibe it though.

You have my deepest sympathy. Stones have to be about as bad as pain gets. I do know how special it is when you get to the puking stage of pain.

I know that I have a fairly high tolerance to pain, because for me pain is normal, but the two bouts of kidney stones took things to another level.

You have a long time to wait for the surgery..
Why so long? Are they running tests before or something?

they are running more blood work to see if there is a secondary infection because my white cell count is a wee bit high and they have to do all my pre op blood work and we have a stat holiday in the middle of it too (Feb 21) but as long as they can control with meds till then I am ok with the wait
