My daughter was cleaning out our chicken coop today, and she saw one of our hens lay an egg which appeared to come out in stages..first she said the white part came out, then the yolk and then the shell, all seperately. The hen did not appear to be straining to lay this blob of stuff, but what the heck? Is there something I can do? The hen is a buff rock, about 1 year old, recently adopted with 9 others from the same flock that all are laying just fine...We have never seen this before, so I have really no idea. Is it possible that the egg broke as she was laying it? My daughter said it was really huge...
