I got a good nights sleep last night. I say that "tongue in cheek". I don't really think a medically induced sleep is as resting as laying down and just turning body functions over the brain to control in sleep mode. It seems I can only do that a very few times a year when I've worked a long hard day and forget to take my meds and go to sleep without them.

I slept okay. It was a little cooler last night, nighttime temps are slowly coming down as they always do before the daytime temps drop. It's still nearly 100F during the day. I have A/C in my room and I crank it up before I go to bed so it's very cool in there.

I have to shut the door to keep that cold air in and that makes one of the dogs unhappy, he gets all worried and scratches at the door. It occurred to me yesterday that I could leave the door open and just hang a curtain in the doorway to keep the cold air in and allow the dog to come and go as he pleases. I bought a thick curtain and hung it up last night before going to sleep. It worked great. The dog loves it. He comes in to check that I'm okay and goes back to sleep contentedly with his buddy in the other room and everyone is happy.

It was such a "duh" moment, I can't believe I didn't think of that sooner.

So glad you found a solution! Last night was rough for me. I was up for a few hours in the middle of the night and then overslept. Luckily we ended up with a two hour delay due to fog so I wasn’t late!

Just be wary of Temazepam. I have had a lot of that back in the 80's. I didn't know what it was. It is one of the sleeping pills when used with alcohol that has claimed the lives of several famous people. Back then it was known as Restoril. It will put you to sleep but the sleep is worthless when you wake up. At least it was for me.

I keep my bottle of Melatonin on my night stand by my bed. The kind that are to be used like several meds that are just placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve. That most always works for me. I finally found them in a store brand at Walgreens for a lot less than a name brand and they work equally well.
