Integrating my chicks - HELP

Including a store run to get the tote this took me well under an hour. If you wrapped the dog kennel to stop wind, snug it up to the chicken coop or run, add shavings, and include a warm room, you wouldn't have to watch them really. I would secure the kennel well to something though for predator prevention.

The cage COULD fit inside the actual coop, it is tall enough and PLENTY wide. If I did the same thing would it work? (Nights in WI get pretty cold, usually below freezing.

I think they'd be fine with the set up I'm using. Interested in others opinions. I'll add a pic shortly when I'm home. Pretty cold damp and windy here in N.Y. too.

After I integrated mine they still prefer to be separated even though they get along. So there’s one side they sleep on and the other side had the others. But every flock is different.

Also you’d be surprised how resilient chickens are but I completely understand they’re your babies and you don’t want anything to happen to them.

Always be sure those chicks have a place to go where the big ones can't follow, for safety. Don't assume the big ones can't follow them if the entrance is really low, they can scoot. But a narrow opening to a small enclosure is perfect.

Maybe I missed it but....
how old are your chicks?...
and how have you managed the heating of them?
