Alright thanks all.
The coop is raised about 30” above the ground with a long ramp. I have never seen a duck set foot on the ramp. The oldest chicks go up and down the ramp at will. There is also a 4” high block on the door of the coop. So there are a couple of chicks that love being out with the ducks and come out every day. There are a couple that come out once in awhile. Most of the young chicks stay 100% in the coop (though they will poke their heads over and watch).
Seems workable, the younger chicks that come out don’t really go back up the ramp though.
