I am about to integrate my 2 new chickens (they have been in quarantine for a while now)

i was planning on taking the new ones putside and letting them roam with the flock but at night time will they follow the others into the coop or will the new ones be lost?

the new ones have been in a pen in my kitchen so they dont know what outside is like here.
their past home had stone walls forming the outside fence so they have really never been truly free ranging

I am thinking I may want to bring them to the coop after dark tonight and keep all the chickens cooped up for a few days but i wont be able to babysit 24/7 for pecking...

what should I do?

You didn't say how old the new ones are.

If nothing else, put a wire cage inside the coop with the little ones for a couple of days so they can all see each other without being pecked on.

my flock and the new comers are all about the same age...just over 1 year and my flock are barn yard mutts and the new comers are EE's

Well the only real way to know is to find out but i bet they will

you bet they will what?...get lost or come home?...lol

I would put them in a dog crate or cage in the coup for a few days so they can get used to each other and they will know that is their home and then let them out with the others for a little bit and put them back in the cage and after a few days they should follow the others right back in. Just put them back in the coup for the first few days.

thanks i will start them tonight.....
