Integration issues

Hi everybody,

I have an issue that’s been troubling me ever since I made the mistake to buy two different sets of chicks this spring. I have 18 hens that will be 16 weeks old this Friday. I also have a 12 other birds(both hens and roo's) I purchased that are 6 weeks old today. The younger ones are quickly outgrowing their temporary cage. My question, in a couple of weeks would it be OK to section off a part of the coop I have the older birds in and raise the younger birds in there?

hi there,
we sectioned our coop with a plywood board about 3 or 4 feet high and raised our broilers in one side they are 7 weeks old and put our other chicks on the other side which are only 2-3 weeks old and all are doing fine. we keep our coop clean and its easy to get to both sets of chickns since we just step the board.. later we are going to put chicken wire above the board so that everyone stays on their side but thats an idea anyhow...
