So I moved my new batch of chicks out at 2 weeks, cold and all. A couple weeks later they are nearly integrated, effortlessly.
It's absolutely true that the older birds accept them much better when they are younger. I'm amazed at the acceptance this time.

A minute later the rooster was in the
brooder tidbitting for the chicks.
