Integration started this morning

More progress being made. Yesterday I set the light timer to be on from 8 am to 9 pm in the big coop, hoping that would encourage the little ones to expore the big coop. Close the grow out coop during the daytime, opening it in the evening. This morning 5/6 were in the big coop up on the roosts! They got down and out of the coop when the year old came in and up on the roost with them. Since then they have been going in and out. Told hubby going to wait until close to dark and see if they will go into the big coop to sleep. If not will open grow out coop.
At least the year old is letting them go into the big coop. Probably getting lonely in there at night by herself.

Everything has progressed great. Younger ones (now 11 weeks) would go in the big coop during the day, get up on the roost. At night would go to the drop door of the grow out coop and wait for me to open it.
The past few days the year old has been right in the among the younger ones. So tonight I thought let's see what they do if I wait until it is almost dark before going out. Went out and 2 of the Golden pullets were in the big coop up on the front roost with the year old on the back roost. Other 4 over at the grow out coop drop door. Instead of opening the door, I put them in the big coop. The Golden I put in went up on the front roost with the other 2. The black sexlinks didn't get up on the roost, they stayed on the floor. They will get on the roost when they are ready, they like the roosts (in the coop and the one in the run). First night in the big coop.

Here they are at 11 weeks.

Went out to see if I had to put the pullets in the big coop. 5 went in on their own, 4 up on the front roost. Waited another 10-15 minutes and the last one went in on her own. Looked in the coop, 5 were on the roost. Last one in on the floor. :woot:woot Only took once of putting them in. I expected to have to do it for a week or more. Guess they were ready and the year old was ready for companions.
