I needed my garage back, so moved the chick box (8' long by 3' wide by 3' high) into the run with my 2 remaining hens (the rest were gotten by a fox while free ranging, very traumatic). The 2 hens are hardly laying since the attack, but doing well otherwise and injuries have healed. So, put the box in there with a baby gate at one end so they could see each other. That night, I put a brick under the baby gate so littles could get in and out as desired. Came home from work and all 12 were out, hopping around and even on the bigs--they didn't care. Better than I had hoped for. I think my 2 bigs like the activity, really, since it's fairly recent that the others were killed. Yippee! Now, to see how many boys and how many girls. 2 boys for sure, as red as the combs are at barely 6 weeks old.
