Come and visit us on "surviving Minnesota"..

You have to be very careful around the twin cities, some cities allow birds some do not and they each have differing rules and regulations. Even Minneapolis allows them, but they have to "inspect" your coop to make sure it is up to their standards. I think they require heat and maybe running water and a bathroom for the birds..

The requirements are written by someone that has never seen a chicken and has not had a connection to a farm in 12 generations.

Have you looked carefully at your city's ordinances? There may be a loophole you can use.
