Been reading the sticky posts, thank you for posting these. I'm concerned with housing my 5-12 week old chicks off the ground in a wire bottom cage. How much room per chick is needed in these grower pens? I have chickens no nearer than 50-60 yards away from where the chicks will be. How concerned need I be about disease?
In lieu of a wire bottom cage, can I get away with bedding of some sort? What kind? Wheat straw suffice?
Can I grow out my 5-12 week old birds on the ground if I de-worm them with medication in the process?
As a newbie growing peafowl, what do you think will be my typical mortality rate from disease--you guesses are as good as any. What was your mortality rate when you began with peas?
