some chicken in my flock of eight.. and since then noticed it in my 22 chicks a sound that is about the time of roosting its a pur sound its really pretty kinda like a chickens version of a lullaby. i kind of wonder would it be a hen or roo both making that sound?
the other interesting thing is when i go out to "talk to the chickens" i sit out in a lawnchair some times feed them bread or tops of grass seeds somethims i just sit and watch them ive noticed they tend to be a little braver and dint back down when my dog size cat comes up to sit with me and they make an iteresting rapud gurgle acompanied by clucks thats like an alet to others. but they keep an im ready to fly any moment stance as they take turns coming twart and backing up.. cat gets intemidated and will move farther away from them.
whats reakky neat is while i am out with them they tend to stay close to me if i put hands down they let me pet a little..still dont like being picked up though lol. they will lay all around me and eat around as well. its interesting to see they except me in thier checken world to a small degree.
