Long story short, last week one of my horses escaped. Thanks to the police he made it safely back home and I wanted to bring the office involved some eggs today as a little “Thank You”. I was told that he wasn’t in for the day so I asked the lady if she could be kind enough to put the eggs on his desk. She looks at me bewildered and says:

“Are they going to explode?”

Sure, I think to myself, cops need to be careful these days. So I open up the box, show the content and say:

“No ma’am, those are farm fresh eggs for the officer.”

She still looks at me funny.

“So…are they going to explode?”

I shake my head and smile.

“No ma’am, they are farm fresh eggs. They will not explode.”

She scratches her head and looks around nervously.

“Are they going to hatch?”

I take a deep breath and say “No Ma’am, they are not going to hatch.”

She still doesn’t take the eggs but finally another officer walks up and says: “Mary, when was the last time you saw a dozen eggs out of the super market explode or hatch???”

So shrugs and finally opens the door and grabs the eggs and promises to put them on the officers desk.

And I have lost a little bit more faith in humanity…

You may giggle but when when DS discovered "the hidden stash" the girls had been making... I'm not so certain a few of those weren't a possible threat

9 out of 10 people do not realize that fresh eggs do not have to be refrigerated, was that maybe the case? When I tell people that I leave them on the counter for up to two weeks they think I am crazy or trying to poison them.....
