interesting "shredded" feathers??

I hatched out some bought eggs, they are now 9 1/2 weeks old. Two of the chicks have always had a slightly frizzy appearance to the feathers on their backs. I believe one is supposed to be a Lavender Orpington, and the other (whiter one) could be a lavender Orpington or an Olive egger. What could this be from? Here are some photos...

I have no idea, but I believe it is genetic and you should maybe avoid breeding from that line? If you do some poking on other threads on BYC you should find some information about the shredded feather gene, or just Google it
