Interesting, - south american blue egg chicken

Hmm, I've seen her in lots of chicken videos, so I'm not sure how she can be so "ign'int."

M To The Maxx, many people refer to Easter Eggers as Ameraucanas or Araucanas, but technically Ameraucana and Araucana are purebreeds that meet APA standards and lay only blue eggs, while EEs are mutts and lay tinted eggs ranging from olive to blue-green and sometimes even pink. I believe they are all offshoots of the same ancentry.

A few months ago I read this long thread about blue-egg-laying genes that turned into a heated debate about the genetics of Amer/Arau/EEs. I wish I could find it again to link it here. It had a lot of great info and shows the depth of the controversy surrounding these birds. What's in a name, indeed?

I actually dyed some scrambled eggs green, just for giggles. Put the plate in front of DH- he picked up his fork and started eating! Total straight man to my "comedy".

Not an Easter Egger. Not an Araucana. Not an Ameraucana. Quetero, perhaps? Or maybe not, the Quetero, according to Storey's Guide to Poultry breeds, lays brown eggs.
The tail looks too long for an Ameraucana or Easter Egger.

Hmm.
