It may be a tumor that developed inside of the egg, i don't see why that couldn't happen. Maybe some kind of deformed chick???

The strange formation at the end may have been the tumors way of feeding of the chickens blood supply, much like an ambilical cord of sorts. In any case its a good thing you chicken was able to get rid of it.

No worms as they are wormed every 3 months and this is a 11 month old hen

It was a tumor of some sort, the strange cord coming off of it was its way of feeding of your chicken, like some strange diabolical umbilical cord.

but then I'm just guessing.
