Please help. I am trying to diagnose my hen, but honestly I have no clue?

1. Swollen abdomen
2. Bowed sort of feet (facing inward)
3. Large/normal appetite
4. Tail down when walking and sitting
5. She will sometimes stand in a penguin sort of stance (like trying to lay an egg)
6. Her poop stinks and sticks to her vent area. It also comes out a lot smaller then usually. Sometimes the size of a pellet.

I gave her a warm bath to clean her up (I also thought, at the time, she was egg bound). She was in a sort of hypnotic state which I have seen with many egg bound chooks, but still no egg after 3 days.

From what I have read and been told, I suspect it could be internal laying? If so what can I do? Is there no cure?

Please help. I am truly desperate!

My hen has recently suffered the same. I took her to the vet and they said it was infected ovaries... she is now on 0.4ml of Loxicom (anti inflamitary) and half of a noroclav 250mg tablet for dogs, twice daily. The noroclav is 200mg amoxillin and 50mg clavulanic acid,

hope that helps!
