hi
I have been doing a "salvage hatch" on my neighbors eggs. Hen quit laying but others had laid eggs on her head. So. I am down to my last egg. 2 healthy chicks....one hatched last week, one last night.....one wrong end pip died two days ago. I assumed this last egg was not viable. I just candled and there is a live internal pip. I replaced in incubator. My concern is that this last chick that hatched last night has some sticky egg white stuck to feathers. My humidity seems to be a tad high ( depending on the thermometer). One says 80% the other 65-70%. I'm hoping to save this last chick. Any advice??
I have a little giant incubator

I'm.not sure how much you know but just in case when it does hatch keep it in the bator until it's completely dry. Once it's dry put it in a container big enough to put a heat lamp on where the chick can get under the lamp but can also have a place it can go to away from the lamp if it gets too hot. Under the lamp the first week I keep the temperature 95to 100 degrees

Thank you. I just moved the 24hr old chick out.,....it dry but has dried egg white. I used a warm towel and got some off. He is in the brooder box inside his own box. My week old chick is in the main part of the box. Young chick has already been pecking at food and has fluffed up quite a bit. Lots of energy. Both chicks are curious.

I keep checking the egg. I have my temp set at 99.7 ...humidity says 65%. The internal thermometer reads 101 and 70%. The internal had jumped to 88% after hatch. . I like the lg because I feel there is less humidity loss if it's opened. I'm a total newbie at this but have read a lot. Of course doing it the hard way with totally different age eggs. I'll keep the lg thermometer at 99.8 and 65% humidity

Egg pipped externally last night. Question. I will now have 3 different age chicks ...ideas on integration. My newest hatches is pretty aggressive
