Today is day 18 for the eggs my Silkie abandon. She sat for about 12 hours on 6 eggs and then gave up. I put them in the incubator to try to save them. One cracked, another infertile, and a third quit early. I just candled the remaining three. One may be lost and the other two have pipped internally. As I was candling I heard chirps! Is it ok that they are early? The humidity is just at 60%. Do you think I will have any problems with the two viable chicks?

BTW...I left the 3rd in just in case...

If you go into lockdown I think your two babies will be fine. Good luck!!!

Well this afternoon will be day 19 and we had two eggs externally pip late last night.
Not much progress but chirping away. So all sounds good.

Humidity is at 62-64% I'd like it to be higher.
I filled all the ports with water and I even have a small dish.

I've forgotten to take the eggs out of the turner for lockdown before and had 100% hatches before. I am sure if the hen gets up and relieves herself or gets some food or drink and returns to the eggs there could be a little movement going on there.

Additionally, I've had chicks externally pip on day 17... Huh... that's before day 18 lockdown. Of course the turner was still in the bator.

oh if you want to increase humidity, put wet paper towels or rags in the incubator.

I feel so foolish… My days were off. My chicks totally knew when they were ready, unfortunately I did not.
Thanks for the advice.

Just to update...
Two have hatched and the 3rd that I saw no movement in just pipped.
