Hey you lovely BCM aficionados! Can you please help me determine the age of this young lady? I bought her from a breeder who had her in a pen of growouts and at the time I bought her about 6 weeks ago, he said she’s “anywhere between 3 to 5 months of age”. Since I’ve had her, her comb and wattles have developed more. Does she look point of lay at this time? I know that Marans tend to lay a bit later than some breeds.
She has a leftover fowl pox lesion on her beak, something she brought with her from her previous owner.

Pretty pullet.
Nice hackle coloring.
She seems to be nearing point of lay but it could be a few weeks yet.

One of my Marans flocks did not lay until 7 months old.
My other line of Marans began to lay at 5 months.

I agree, she looks like around the same age as mine (20-23 weeks). Mine usually start to lay around 21 weeks.
