Currently I have 6 TT's around 3 weeks old and am looking to get 6-8 Barred Rocks within the next week. Would it be ok to put the new chicks in the same brooder with the older ones or what is the best way to go about this??? As they will be in the same coop/run once they are of age. Still new to the game so any tips appreciated, THX!!

I wouldn't put them together if the new ones are much smaller. You could separate them in the brooder with wire so that they can see eachother, but not get at eachother. Once they are generally the same size and used to seeing eachother all the time, you should have an easier time putting them together.

Good luck!

I would not recommend mixing them together if they are more than 2 weeks of age difference and the youngest ones are less than 3 weeks old. I mixed some last year that were 3 weeks different in ages and the older ones started to trample the young ones. We quickly divided you brooder into two brooders. I put them back together (removed the divider) when the younger ones were about 3 or 4 weeks old.
