Months now. Both had what looks like their entire intestines hanging out. Prior to this all of
My chickens have been very happy and I’m at a total loss. Both chickens I found like this in the morning in the coop. The black chicken was just chasing my son around two days ago trying to steal his bagel and showed no signs of illness.

That is really strange. There's absolutely no trauma or ripping of the feathers, so it couldn't possibly be a predator like a hawk or a coyote. It must've been something internal, because there's no signs or trauma anywhere on the hen.

It looks like they’re coming from her vent area. Can you see if they’ve come out her vent? It’s possible it was some kind of bad prolapse, though I’m not certain.
Sorry for your loss.

Can you get pictures of the back end of the bird?

Just to get an idea of what happened.

I’m very sorry for your loss.
I’m not sure what happened, but am concerned this is the second time you’ve seen this. I think a severe prolapse could result in intestines coming out?

I have read before where a weasel can wrap its body around a chicken and pull its intestines out through the vent. Is there any chance that you might have weasels? They can get in through the tiniest spaces. So sorry this has happened to your chickens.

Your state does have weasels and they will pull the intestines out of a chicken just for fun and not eat anything. I would say for sure this is the work of one of those predators.
