Normal or abnormal? Intestines in chick's poop.

Hi, for several days we have been noticing weird droppings with red and orange tissue in our chick coop. We have been suspecting for a long time that this might be coccidiosis, and have had our chicks (7 and 10 weeks old) on Corid for two weeks. We have been adding 2 teaspoons per gallon of water but the situation seems to be worsening in terms of amount of poop with blood and tissue. Chicks are active though.

Today we saw huge pieces of intestines in their poop outside where they run around, which was completely different. We haven't noticed any change in our chick's poo even after the Corid, which makes us wonder if this could be something different. But... is this completely normal or something to worry about? We are pretty concerned and would appreciate any replies or advice.
Thanks!

What do you feed, including treats?
Do you have grit (crushed granite) available?
Photos of the chicks?

Corid is to be given for 5-7 days, I would stop the treatment.
Is the Corid water the only thing they have been drinking or have you added anything else to the water like supplements, vitamins or electrolytes?

Hi! Thanks for responding! We feed our chicks medicated chick starter.

We gave them dewormer yesterday. We haven't been finding any more tissue since Friday, but some blood is still in some stools.

We have not been feeding them any grit. We stopped adding Corid to water and have been adding vitamins during the last two days only. Thanks again for your time!

What beautiful birds!

I hope they get better soon, I’ll leave this to the experts. The poo looks like the worms I went fishing with last weekend, so that’s what I know 🤦‍♀️🪱

What did you deworm with?

Glad they are doing better!

We dewormed them with DewormX from Amazon. We thought the chicks were doing better until today when we unfortunately found more blood and tissue. :hit

Can you get photos of what you see now?

I'm not familiar with DewormX, looking at the ingredient list, it looks more like a natural remedy that offers support to the digest system. If you feel that worms are part of the problem, I highly recommend that you use an anthelmintic like Fenbendazole (Safeguard) or Albendazole (Valbazen).
Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.

Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.

Toltrazuril or a Sulfa Antibiotic may be better to use for the treatment of Coccidiosis.

I would also provide Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice.

Thanks for the great info!!! Do you have, by chance, the dosage for Toltrazuril and Sulfa antibiotic?
Here are a few pics of the poo…

@Fluffyfriends Any update on this? I have a 12 week old chick passing the same type of intestinal shed in her poo and her fecal float came back negative for parasites and giardia - wondering if you have any advice!
