intorducing new chicks

I have 6 female chicks (easter eggers, barred rocks, and rhode island reds) entering the teenage stage of their life (they'll be 5 weeks 4/18). I wanted a green queen and have a chance to get one this weekend (I'm not sure of her age --from Agrarian), but worry about her being alone in the brooder. Any suggestions???

Please pick up at least one more chick to be her friend if possible. Chicks do not do well alone and the age difference to the others is to much as they will no longer need heat besides the size difference.

You should definitely try to get at least one or two similar age to go with it. In a pinch you could put a mirror in with it to give yourself a couple days to find some. I did that with a solo duckling and she would sleep next to the mirror but ultimately she figured it out after a couple days but by then we had a couple friends

I got a blue orpington when I went and picked up my green queen from Agrarian. They are happy together in the brooder.
