Intractable rooster

I keep seeing websites saying they are friendly. But, a friend of mine, tells me, she's heard from several friends, all with mean barred rocks. This boy was snuggling in my lap, in the morning, and then attacked me that afternoon. His temperament, under the testosterone is super friendly. So, I was really thinking I could bring him around and he'd chill after he got thru teenager hood.
Most cockerels, once they reach rooster hood they usually do settle down, & there's those few that stay a nightmare.

I've seen lots of websites say they're really friendly too.

One thing you might try, grab him and hold him down flat with one hand, take the other hand on the back of his head and push his head to the ground and hold him in that position for about 30 seconds or so. That is the position a boss rooster takes with underlings. It establishes you as the alpha. If that doesn't work, you may have to do it twice, the as cmom says Freezer camp.

Has the deslorelin implant worn off??
They last what 6 months?

edit*
not sure where the underline came from-or how to remove it.
It doesn't fully work on him. It settles him some, but not fully. Only works 1-2 months. I just can keep that up. Although, you asking that, made me wonder, if maybe there's a testosterone surge when it wears off. I think the last one was 3 months the ago.

That's part of what I don't fully know. When does that happen? I know it varies, but I don't know if he's crossed that line. I've seen a lot of people say it happens around 1 year, which is why I wonder if he's just giving it one last try.

I have done that, but maybe I'm not holding him long enough. I will try doing it for 30 secs and see what happens.

1yr is the norm with my birds.

Mr. Evil a silkie of mine was super mean. He'd attack me, my dad, & try to attack my mom through the fence. He even picked fights with the other birds. I knew he wasn't going to settle at 1 year, so we done him in instead of waiting.

He was the baddest we ever had.

What was it that put it over the top, that you just knew, he wasn't going to change his mood? I feel like the gaps in my boys meanness, show hope, but I just don't know.

He was just relentless, & never gave any of us a break.

Thanks everyone. I, finally, got him out of the rabbit hutch today. I held his belly down on the ground and, carefully, held his head down before I tried taking him out. Held him 30 secs, after he stopped struggling. I hadn't held him that long, previously. I had tried this, in the past, when he was acting the fool. In fact, i did it yesterday after he attcked me. Held him, maybe, 5-10 secs after he stopped complaining. So far, he's being good. I think, I'll give him another couple months and if he attacks me again, I'll be done. He's a really nice boy, under the testosterone. Was a lap birds right up until the second it kicked in. Cuddling, in the morning, and attacked me, in the afternoon.
