Hello. Just to intro. I'm in SC and have now eight 6-1/2 wk old chicks. Sadly I had nine until just a little while ago. I'm heartsick. I lost my beautiful Blue Andalusion girl Edith to
a freak accident. She pretty much died instantly after running into my foot/leg as
I was trying to step to side to avoid her. It happened so fast, I am still in shock.

Will intro more later when it is not such a sad time around here. Guess that is
the really, really hard way to learn about these wonderful creatures.

I know how you feel, I had a simular incidenthappen, I was setting my growout coop off the ground using a jack and blocks and 4x4 timber to set it on, one of the wood blocks had a screw head sticking out about an inch, i went o move around the end of the coop and one of my BR roos about 6weeks old got between my boot and that screw, i tried to avoid stepping on him and in the process, my boot drove his little head against the head of the screw and gouged him, he only lived a few seconds, I would not have had that happen for anything, he was one that was always at the coop door to greet me and let me pick him up, In time you will feel better. Wishing you the best

Thanks for the welcomes. So much good information on this site and nice folks.
Even with this heartache (I will learn some things the hard way)
it is so much better than the politics of the dog show world
of which I have been a part of for 20 years. :-)
