Hi everyone! My name is Romi and I’m from the far northern boonies of Illinois. My familiy and I live on 6 acres. We have 14 Chickens- 12 hens and two roosters. We have Wyandots, Rhode Island reds, and australorps . They will be a year old this March.
My favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens is seeing them grow from babies to their adult selves.
Before this clown show we are living through now, I used to love working out, and remodeling our home. My husband and I are pretty young parents of adult children so to speak. We moved to our homestead in 2019 from the suburbs. We started our garden last year and we are hoping to expand it this year as well as expand out flock as well- with 3-5 more hens and our daughter wants to get into raising birds for meat. We are a hunting family - I help with the quartering. Our ultimate goal this year is to rely on the grocery store LESS AND LESS
