I am Ella and I have had my chickens for three years now. They all seem to be doing alright and the rooster does a good job of defending them from predators. Right now we have a total of 22 adult chickens (21 hens, 1 rooster) and 6 chicks (gender to be determined).* We have had many breeds but we have a bantam something, arauconas, rhode island reds, black and white sex links, black austrolorps (one of them is pure bred but white), and a couple others.* I found out about BackYardChickens.com when I was looking for chicken information online and I found some of the threads, which I found helpful. I enjoy crafting (macrame, sewing, crochet, weaving, twining, painting, sketching, etc.) listening to and playing music, dancing and watching dance, gardening, cooking, baking, and playing with the animals on our farm. I have one younger brother, four older sisters, no spouse or children, two parents, and two auxiliary parents (step parents), and lots of uncles and aunts, but only three cousins. I have seven adult cats (all fixed) and two kittens, three dogs, and many 28 chickens.* **

My brother named most of the animals. In turn, there is an Ian Junior, an Ian Junior Junior, and an Ian Junior Junior Junior. There is the rooster. There is Penny, Sunset, Penelope, Persephone, Isadora, Natasha, Buckbeak (the araucona looks like the hippogriff from Harry Potter), Theodosia, Teodora, Roseanna, Stellaluna, Beatris, Cassandra, Olivia, Potato, Lilly, Mckenna, Louiseya, Martha, Rhea, and the Ian Juniors.
DOGS
There is Scooter (His full name is Scooter Frederick)
Mcgillicutty (Say it ten times fast "Scooter and Mcgillicutty, Scooter and Mcgillicutty, Scooter and Mcgillicutty...")
and then there is sweet Zucker (her name means Sugar)
