Intro to me+ funny/kinda sad story!

Yeah it does
Until you hit middle school and your brain is permanently broken from call of the wild so you can’t read no more
Seriously why does no one talk about how sad Call of the Wild is

Yea, I was haunted for days after reading both call pf the wild and white fang in 6th grade. However, I also read where the red fern grows and old yeller in 5th grade, so that kinda dulled the pain of reading literally any sad story afterwards. And I do read alot less now as opposed to what i read in 3d and 5th grade. Now I just read a couple of really high level books slowly once every month or two to sharpen and enhance my vocabulary.🙂

Welcome to BYC. My siblings and I benefited from a father who thought reading was the most important skill to master. In 3rd. grade I was reading at college levels. My older sister used to let me read the books she brought home from the library. I loved it.

I was very surprised when my son was in kindergarten that the kids were not started on at least easy reading books. I started by reading books to him and he turned around and read them back to me. Funny but, his grandfather loved having my son read to him.

White fang was probably the worse out of it and call of the wild.

Update: day 6ish I think? I dunno, but the double egg got a ruptured yolk, so I discontinued incubating it. To risky in my opinion. Double yolked+ruptured yolk=danger zone.
I replaced the egg with a single yolk egg, so I am back up to six total. All the eggs are developing wonderfully, with long, red veins, tiny embryos, and growing air cells. I cant wait to see the little duckies wiggling around In their eggs, hopefully within the next week or so.

Will post candling pics within a day or two!

Here are some pictures! I am fascinated by the vein patterns, they look like little, spiny anjel wings streaching out around the embryo...

Some of my favorite books. Ever read 'Sounder'? Loved that one too, but also super sad.
'My Side of the Mountain' was a great one, where I live Catskill mountains. I always wanted to try it out and live like he did when I was a kid even picked out a big hollow tree 😆
Good luck with your hatch! Those eggs look great! Best part is when you candle and see all the wiggling! 👍

I have never read sounder or my side of the mountain. I suppose now would probaby be a good time to do so, with qt and all...I am trying to be patient, waiting to see the first wiggles, but I just cant wait. Almost as exciting as the actual hatch, with none of the anxiety.😂

Day 8 update: I saw the first movement of the embryos during candling today. I looked online and it said that noticeable movement usually starts around the tenth day. So either my ducklings are developing really fast, or they were just flowing around with the movement of the egg itself. Either way it was amazing to see, and all the eggs are doing fantastic!
