Hello! I've had chickens for just 3 years now. I got 6 brahmas initially and then adopted a lone rhode island red. Lost one of my brahmas to natural death. (She was always a little off and needed special attention and care, but super sweet.) Then had a hawk get 2 more brahmas. Just got another 5 brahmas and one rhode island red(my 8 yr old daughter wanted a friend for the other red). So now we have 10. 8 brahmas and 2 reds. I'm just now introducing the 6, 14 week old chicks to my other 4. My older lone rhode island(ruby) is not so nice at the moment! My husband and i built a lovely coop when we first got them. They have ran around our fenced in back yard so far, but since a hawk got 2 of them in the winter- we need to do a run. I love looking out the back of the house and see them just pecking around. I have 2 dogs that just hang out with them when they're outside. My 10 month old lil boy loves to watch them!
