Hi and welcome! The part of your intro about the poop made me laugh because I grow vegetables and am a compostaholic so poop was one of the reasons I got chickens! I never have enough! Good luck with your flock! We're so happy to have you!

I'm going to build a garden in the spring and start growing vegetables too! I've heard the poop is wonderful for them so I'm looking forward to doing something with it other than throwing it over my fence lol I may be asking you for some assistance in getting it started and what to do, I've never grown my own vegetables before.

Well first of all don’t throw it over the fence! Lol put it in feed sacks or make a bin of some kind to let it age maybe mix some leaves and your veggie trimmings, coffee grounds etc...
My chickens have the run of my garden till around March. And where I decide to plant lettuce I’ll keep them out sooner.
There is a garden section here at &BYC and all kinds of garden related things are discussed. Look at you tube videos about gardening with chickens, it’s really interesting!
