I am a seasoned veteran when it comes to chickens. I was 8 when I first got them and now I am 25.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

How much fun they are to be around

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am a special ed teacher, I am the oldest of 3 kids and I live in Illinois.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I have been in the Facebook group for a couple years now and realized that there was a website when looking on Google for a question about geese.

Thanks, I’m glad that I’ll like this better. So far based off my exploration of this group I can say I am. I love how you can search the different categories for what you need and not just scrolling hoping you find something.

Exactly! Much of BYC is like a database of information. If someone makes a post asking something like "how do I cure bumblefoot," members here don't tell them to go search the thousands posts on how to fix it, but it's explained to them, or we'll give them the link to someone's article here that explains it perfectly.

There are so many helpful people here, and nobody judges.
